One big factor in valuing a carpet is the ability to resell it. The big auction houses are very selective on what they allow in their auctions. Now that they have allowed Benlian and other 20th century high quality Tabriz rugs into their auctions the whole genre is worth more. If your signature is that of 'Javan Amir Kizi' then you have a valuable rug. This one on my site sold at a wholesale auction for about 20$ US a square foot 300$ US per square meter. Even though this was about 5 meters it is called a 6 meter rug and if it were larger it would have sold for more per foot. 6 meter rugs are not the most popular sizes in antique carpets.
